In my Postcard design I was hoping to create a very colorful and fun image that looked like a pile of shoes on the floor of someone's closet, but overlapping and two dimensional.
I decided to choose images that all had a white background so that they would look clean when they were layered, and so that they would look like one uniform image rather than a bunch of separate images.
I found this project challenging in that I felt like I was teaching myself how to use photoshop the whole time. I sometimes feel that we are supposed to have background knowledge of these programs before entering this class, and I do not. I found it challenging working with multiple layers at once and rotating each image so that they were pleasant to look at.
When I encountered problems I generally asked other people in our class for advice, or referred to the directions that we used online for our double exposure image.
I am most proud of the fact that I was able to use so many separate images for this postcard and I feel that it still looks clean and not too jumbled. I also used the rotating tool a lot, and I had never used that before. I am proud that I was able to teach myself how to use this tool effectively.
I think that if I had more time I would have come up with a more creative theme for my postcard, and played more with colors and saturation. For my image I left the colors as they were because I wanted my finished product to be incredibly colorful. Overall I enjoyed this project and I am proud of my finished product.
